More than 30 years ago, East West Partners pioneered the master planned community concept with Brandermill, just outside Richmond, Virginia in Chesterfield County. Situated on a 1700-acre lake, Brandermill was one of the first successful planned communities to combine homes with offices, schools, churches, shopping centers, and a wide array of recreational facilities. Brandermill was an undisputed success; in 1977 East West Partners received the first of many significant national awards, when Brandermill was named The Best Planned Community in America by Better Homes & Gardens Magazine and the National Association of Homebuilders. A few years later, the 1200-acre Woodlake community, also in Chesterfield County, was developed and was recognized by the Urban Land Institute as the "Best Community In America."

In recent years, Hampton Roads has become the development company's number one opportunity for growth. East West Partners has developed four communities in the area including Gatling Pointe in Smithfield, The Riverfront in Northern Suffolk, Eagle Harbor in Isle of Wight County and now Founders Pointe in Isle of Wight County.
